Zi Wei Dou Shu is an essential, “must-have” professional tool for consultants, astrologers, and practitioners -and it is also friendly and useful for beginners.
Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗數) is variously known as the Purple Star Calculation, the Purple Planet Constellation, the Purple Star Astrological System, or Polar Star Astrology.
This ancient system was created by Lu Dong Bin (吕洞宾) and was written down during the Song Dynasty (960–1280 AD) by the master astrologer and philosopher Chen Xi Yi (陈希夷).
Although Zi Wei Dou Shu provides extremely detailed destiny analysis -strong enough to stand alongside Zi Ping BaZi (Four Pillars)- it remained an exclusive instrument of the Bureau of Astronomy of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for nearly 1,000 years, used only to serve the Emperor.
For this reason, Zi Ping BaZi remained the most widely known mainstream destiny analysis method until more recent times, when masters began teaching Zi Wei Dou Shu openly after World War II. Since Zi Wei Dou Shu first appeared in the Song Dynasty, it has a history of slightly more than 1,000 years.
◆ This Zi Wei Astrological System is charted into a “Ming Pan (命盘)” -the Personal Life Chart- using the Four Pillars of Destiny (birth date, birth time, and gender).
