Aiko & Egor: Autism Education
iOS Universel / Education
The Aiko & Egor app was created by See Beneath, a nonprofit focused on autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a neurological condition that affects social communication, learning, and development. Designed for children with autism, their families, and educators, the app combines cartoons, animated content, and games for children with Autism to support engagement, communication, and developmental skills.
Aiko & Egor features simplified animation, colorful underwater cartoon characters, and interactive activities that help children with autism practice research-supported skills. The app is intended for shared use between children and adults to encourage real-time interaction and complement educational and autism intervention programs.
App Features
Enjoy animated cartoons, visual stories, and games for children with Autism through these features:
Explore Animated Cartoon Content
Watch animated videos in full or choose individual scenes. The cartoon-style animations feature friendly underwater characters and simplified visual storytelling created for children with autism spectrum disorder. Parents, siblings, friends, and teachers can enjoy the animated content together or children can watch independently. Expressive characters, illustrations, and animation support learning, attention, and social engagement.
Learning Emotions with Aiko & Egor Puppets
Friendly puppet characters Aiko and Egor model how to recognize, express, and manage emotions. Designed with neurodiverse learners in mind, Aiko and Egor puppets help children build emotional awareness and self-regulation skills in a fun, relatable, and easy-to-understand format.
Parents and Children Learn Together
Watch the same animated content with learning opportunities called “Bubble Times” built into key moments. During each Bubble Time, the animation pauses and instructions appear to guide the learning moment. Adults can replay character interactions or continue the animated scene while supporting communication, social interaction, and developmental goals. Families and educators can collect response data in real time and monitor progress over time.
Skills-Based Games Designed for Autism Spectrum Disorder
Practice skills modeled by the animated characters through games for children with Autism. Activities include matching games, shape recognition, animal identification, turn-taking, visual discrimination, and other interactive challenges. The games are inspired by the cartoon artwork and animated characters, helping children with autism spectrum disorder build engagement and developmental skills. Adults are encouraged to participate, take turns, and support positive learning experiences.
Research-Supported Neurological and Developmental Disorder Resources
See Beneath’s co-founders have years of experience in autism research and intervention for autism spectrum disorder. Aiko & Egor incorporates principles from Video Modeling and Applied Behavior Analysis. Learning domains and target skills are based on the Early Start Denver Model and Strategies for Teaching based on Autism Research curricula. These approaches support developmental milestones, communication, social learning, and engagement for children with ASD.
