Beiwe2
iPhone / Education
This iOS application is part of the Beiwe research platform used to collect research-quality smartphone sensor and usage data from subjects in clinical and non-clinical research studies. Only participants who have been invited to join a study, and have been provided both a user ID and a password, can use this application. The Beiwe research platform, including this application, is a project of the Onnela Lab at Harvard University. This work is supported by funding from the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
Please note, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
The Beiwe2 app connects to any Beiwe server deployment; during registration, you can specify the URL of the Beiwe server. This is unlike the Beiwe app, which is preset to connect to studies.beiwe.org.
Beiwe integrates with the Health app, because Beiwe's surveys are built on ResearchKit, which uses HealthKit as a dependency.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
The big Two-Five!
This version of Beiwe has some major technical upgrades, all in pursuit of a single critical feature: background app persistence.
Beiwe now stays open in the background much, much longer than it ever has before. This will increase the data collection throughout the day, at the cost of some extra battery drain.
You will notice that the location services icon is visible in the statusbar - this is a normal part of Beiwe's operations.
Known bugs:
- The badge on the Beiwe App icon can become desynced from the number of available surveys.
