Besedoboj

Besedoboj is a mobile language game in which players compete by matching words meeting various criteria (e.g. words beginning with the letter with which the previous word ends, nouns longer than 6 letters etc.).
As their opponent, the player may choose from a multitude of Slovenian writers or play with a random real opponent via the internet.
Difficulty gradually increases, which makes Besedoboj challenging to players of all age groups.
Every victory rewards the player with coins that they can use to upgrade their avatar or to purchase various boosts to aid their game.
Besedoboj is linked to the portal Franček (www.francek.si), where the player can also cash in on their lexical victories.
The game was created and co-funded by ZRC SAZU. It was developed within the project Portal Franček, Language Counselling Site for Teachers of Slovenian and School Dictionary of Slovenian, co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from its European Social Fund.
