CodonQ features two core quiz styles: Relaxed Quizzes, which group codons by amino acid chemical categories such as negatively charged, positively charged, polar, hydrophobic, and special, and Time-Constrained Quizzes, which challenge users to recall amino acid matches under time pressure. Users can also set a Custom Quiz Length to match their learning goals and study routine.
Beyond quizzes, CodonQ supports the exploration of nonstandard codons and enables advanced peptide property analysis, making it valuable for both foundational learning and deeper sequence-function exploration. Users can tap any codon to instantly reveal its corresponding amino acid, along with key biochemical properties including polarity, charge, and hydrophobicity. Additionally, users can input short peptide sequences using the codon table, and the app calculates physicochemical properties of the resulting peptide helping bridge sequence with function.
