Listening Power Advanced
iOS Universel / Education
Listening Power Advanced Skills is a groundbreaking app that provides practice for users anywhere from late elementary school age through adults. Designed by Patti Hamaguchi, MA, CCC-SLP, a licensed speech-language pathologist who has written books on the treatment of auditory processing and is a co-author of the TAPS4 test, this app focuses on language processing (grammar, vocabulary, narrative and question comprehension) and auditory processing tasks (auditory memory auditory closure, auditory figure-ground). This is a great choice to supplement speech-language therapy and those who are strengthening central auditory processing skills.
This app was previously titled "Listening Power Grades 4-8+" but we found that it was also an excellent choice for students in high school and even adults, so it has a new title!
Put the "text on" and narration off to turn it into a reading comprehension app!
There are 5 activities in this app and over 1200 questions in the following categories:
Listening for Grammar (Which sentence sounds right?)
Listening for Meaning (What does that mean? Building vocabulary!)
Listening for Fast Sentences (What did I say? Time-compressed sentences)
Listening for Missing Sounds (What did I say? Auditory clozure)
Listening for Stories (Narrative language): Various questions about the story-includes optional visual and/or background noise distraction) Now the user can also custom-select the stories too!
An auto advance/drop setting automatically adjusts the level of difficulty of the app. Text can be turned on (for reading decoding and comprehension practice) or left off. Within the Settings, you can select 2, 3 or 4 choices as well as the Easy, Intermediate, or Advanced level.
A perfect app for speech therapy!

Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
We have retitled the app from "Listening Power Grades 4-8+HD" to Listening Power Advanced, which is now formatted not only for the iPad, but also the iPhone and Mac. We have added a custom-story selection option and have re-coded this app into Swift for a more optimal and stable user experience.
