Programs are offered at the US Department of Energy (DOE) and other federal agencies with facilities located across the country. ORISE designs and administers a broad range of internships, fellowships, and research experiences available primarily to those pursuing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and other STEM-supporting disciplines and careers.

Accessibility Upgrades:
• Improved color contrast across all screens and components to meet WCAG standards
• Enhanced font size scaling—adjust text size using your device’s accessibility settings
• Expanded screen reader (VoiceOver) support for all interactive elements
• Added ARIA labels and alternative text for images and icon-only buttons
• Improved focus management for modals, alerts, and dynamic content
• Enhanced form accessibility with clear labels, error messages, and descriptive text
Theme & Appearance:
• Light/dark theme support: choose to follow your device’s system setting or select light/dark mode independently in the app
• Theme changes now apply instantly and consistently across all screens
• Refined list item backgrounds and color contrast for better readability
• Improved color contrast and readability in both light and dark modes
Navigation & Components:
• Smoother navigation throughout the app
• Optimized components for improved touch responsiveness and mobile experience
• Faster page load times with lazy-loaded routes and optimized mobile-first styles
Authentication & Security:
• Improved login, registration, and logout flows
• Authentication now persists after app restart and handles token expiration gracefully
• Clear and user-friendly error messages throughout authentication flows
• Enhanced password reset and account recovery features
Performance & Stability:
• Faster app responsiveness and reduced load times, especially on older devices
• Improved offline support and network-aware error handling
• Bug fixes and code cleanup for greater stability and reliability
• Memory management improvements to prevent crashes during extended use
Push Notifications:
• Enhanced push notification delivery and interaction (if enabled for your account)
• Notifications are reliably received when the app is in the background or closed
• Improved notification content and navigation upon tapping
Image Assets:
• New and optimized image assets for improved clarity and faster loading
• Thumbnails and backgrounds now display correctly and load quickly
Storage & State Management:
• Improved data persistence for user preferences, authentication, and app settings
• Changes to settings (theme, favorites, etc.) are saved and restored after app restart
Mobile-Specific Features:
• Platform-specific enhancements for status bar appearance, splash screen, and keyboard management
• App adapts correctly to device orientation changes
• Improved handling of app pause/resume states for long-running operations
