Ægir Iron
iPhone / Forme et santé
Ægir Iron is a training platform built for people who actually compete with a barbell and implements: powerlifters, Olympic weightlifters, strongman athletes, and serious self-coached lifters. The iPhone app and the full web app share one account, so a set you log on your phone is on your iPad and the web instantly. Every individual lifter uses the entire platform free, with no time limit and no card.
Logging that stays out of your way
We rebuilt logging from the ground up to be fast and modern. You get quick set entry, RPE, percentage of rep-max, and per-set notes. An auto rest timer runs on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, a persistent active-workout bar holds your session, and recoverable drafts mean you never lose your work. Bodyweight and a sleep-derived readiness score pre-fill automatically when Apple Health is on.
Programming, your way
Build training however you think about it. Use a guided wizard that assembles a full multi-week plan from your goals, a browsable template library, a Cycle/Block/Week/Day structure builder, a single-session quick-add, or upload an existing program. Drive any movement by RPE, by percentage of training max, or both. Save anything as a reusable template, and as a coach, push it to your roster.
Built for strongman, not adapted for it
This is where Ægir stands apart. Carries, sleds, yokes, and holds are logged the way they're contested, by distance or by time, never forced into sets and reps. The meet planner handles powerlifting, weightlifting, and strongman with attempt and warmup selection plus automatic scoring (Wilks, DOTS, IPF GL, Sinclair). Completed meets plot on a performance chart, and past results import into one continuous history.
Analytics that tell you what to do next
Three lenses on the same training. First, workload (ACWR) broken out by movement pattern: squat, hinge, push, and pull. Second, the same readiness read by muscle, with an anatomical Body Map showing recovery and weekly volume against target. Third, a synthesizer that reads all of it and hands you a short, plain-language summary of what's going well and what to watch. Everything exports to spreadsheet or image.
Personal records, handled
PRs are awarded automatically across every rep range from 1 to 20, plus timed holds and loaded-carry distances. That includes implied records, which update related lifts when a heavier effort makes them true.
Coaching, on the same account
Connect athletes with one shareable invite link, monitor recovery, workload, and readiness across the roster down to a per-athlete Body Map, program your own training from the same login, and carry your own branding through the app, widgets, and watch.
Native Apple, end to end
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a meet-countdown widget, a read-only Apple Watch app with face complications, and Siri shortcuts to start or stop your rest timer or check what's next. HealthKit reads bodyweight and sleep to pre-fill your log and never writes workout data back. A pound/kilogram toggle re-renders every weight, chart, and analytic while keeping your stored numbers exact.
344 exercises with built-in form guides and a visual plate calculator round it out.
Every individual lifter, whether self-coached or on a coach's roster, uses the full platform free. Coaching tools (roster management, custom branding, program assignment) are an auto-renewable subscription from $3.99 to $49.99/month by roster size, each starting with a 30-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in iPhone Settings under Subscriptions. Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
This is a big one. We rebuilt logging from the ground up and refreshed the whole app.
FASTER, SMOOTHER LOGGING
Logging now feels the way it should. The rest timer starts on its own when you finish a set and counts down in a floating bar, you can drag to reorder or swap exercises mid workout, and your last session's numbers show up as ghost placeholders so you always know what to beat. A visual plate calculator is built right into the log and the meet planner, so you can see exactly how to load the bar.
BUILT FOR STRONGMAN
Carries, sleds, yokes, and holds now log the way they are actually contested, by distance or by time, instead of being forced into sets and reps. Strongman events also drop straight into the meet planner.
MORE WAYS TO PROGRAM
There is a single New Program button that opens one clear menu: build with the guided wizard, browse the template library, lay out a Cycle, Block, Week, and Day structure, add a single session, or upload an existing plan. New Calisthenics and Mountain Bike programs join the library, and you can quick add a day, week, or block anytime.
SMARTER ANALYTICS
Your workload (ACWR) is now steadier and harder to fool with a thin training base, and split sessions count correctly everywhere, so work you finish on a second day lands on the right date across analytics, the Body Map, and the calendar. The Body Map has a clear recovery and volume legend, and Strength Level now covers bodyweight movements like pull ups, dips, and pistols.
INDIVIDUAL IS FREE
Every individual lifter now uses the entire platform free, with no time limit and no card. No trial countdown, no surprise paywall. Coaching tools remain a subscription by roster size.
A FRESH LOOK
A deeper, more premium feel throughout: rich gradient backgrounds, frosted glass cards and buttons, a cleaner single color palette, and a refined Ægir brand mark. The dashboard now shows a session streak grid and celebrates new PRs, and the coach roster is tidier and easier to scan at a glance.
ACCESSIBILITY AND POLISH
Larger, more readable text on mobile, full keyboard navigation, status colors paired with icons and labels, and accessible dialogs throughout. We also added email verification at signup with a branded welcome email, and fixed a long list of smaller issues along the way.
Thank you for lifting with us. Keep the feedback coming.
