AllerScan is an app that finds your allergens in every possible product without any limitations. The app uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology that lets you find all possible allergens in less than a second.

Find a product you would like to scan. Please make sure that that the place you are scanning the product in has enough amount of lighting and while scanning the products keep your hands and body in a stable motion for the system to operate as efficiently as possible. In addition, the system is very sensitive to the quality of the picture, so it is important for the user to properly place the product in front of the camera so that every character is visible and readable.

In order to navigate in the app, a special tab bar is implemented on the bottom side of the screen:
- The tab bar button “Include Allergens” serves as a page where user types in all his/her allergens for the app to store and process in the later use of the app.
- The tab bar button “Scan” opens up the camera for the user to scan the products. Just tap anywhere on the screen and take a photo of an ingredient label.
- In the “User Profile” page the user is able to look at all his/her displayed allergens and delete them from the system with a simple swipe to left.

Moreover, we are planning to make the app faster and more accurate with monthly updates and surprises. Stay tuned!
