Is the track open today?
Cantianstadion is the live-status app for the public 400-metre tartan track at the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. One of the most popular running tracks in the city — and one whose gate is sometimes open, sometimes locked. Events close it, weather plays a role, and far too often you find yourself standing in running gear in front of a closed fence.
This app is the answer: a quick glance at your iPhone or Apple Watch before you lace up.
What you get:
• The current status of the track — open or closed
• When the status was last updated
• Official opening hours, sourced live from OpenStreetMap
• A full-featured Apple Watch app: status on your wrist at a glance
• Set the status yourself when you reach the gate — one tap, done
How it works:
The app is crowdsourced. There's no editorial team, no bot. Every runner who shows up can update the status for the next person. The more people contribute, the more reliable it becomes.
What you don't get:
• No accounts, no sign-up, no passwords
• No tracking, no logging, no profiling
• No cookies, no ads, no third-party SDKs
• No device permissions that touch personal data
Cantianstadion is a private neighbourhood project from one runner for all the others. No affiliation with the sports park, no commercial interest, no claim to completeness. Just a small signal for a large community.
