Mission One and the Hibino Sound Therapy Lab are proud to present an all-new version of the hit sleep-aid app, Prescription for Sleep.

In this modern world, we are constantly bombarded with an unprecedented amount of information. Print media, television, and the Internet all provide heavy doses of stimulation, and it’s easy for people to get caught up in the storm. However, in order to achieve a state of mind/body relaxation necessary for a good night’s sleep, you need a way to leave all that stimulation behind. We believe the sights and sounds in this application can help you do that.

In experiments using EEG, we have found that sound created by specific musical instruments, such as tenor sax, harp, and piano, cause the brain to create theta waves, which are brain waves associated with mediation and the early stages of sleep.

As a result of this research, renowned composer Norihiko Hibino created the four songs in this app especially for the purpose of helping listeners achieve a relaxed state. Special microphones were used to pick up the subtleties of the instruments, and the recordings were mixed and mastered in 24-bit 96KHz, in a way that is optimized for iOS devices.
