Never miss out on the conversation again. Spoken is an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) app designed for teens and adults who have trouble speaking due to nonverbal autism, aphasia, or other speech and language disorders. Simply download the app on a phone or tablet and tap on the screen to build sentences quickly — Spoken speaks them automatically, with a wide variety of natural-sounding voices to choose from.

• Speak Naturally
With Spoken you're not limited to simple phrases when you talk. It gives you the freedom to express complex emotions and thoughts with an extensive vocabulary. Our large selection of natural-sounding, customizable voices ensures your communication sounds like you — not robotic.

• Let Spoken Learn Your Voice
Everyone has their own way of talking, and Spoken adapts to yours. Our speech engine learns the way you talk, offering word suggestions that match your style of communication. The more you use the app, the better it gets at providing them.

• Start Talking Right Away
Spoken is very easy to use. It understands what you want to say, so all you have to do is tap to talk. Quickly build sentences and Spoken will speak them automatically.

• Live Life
We understand the challenges and isolation that can come from being unable to use your voice. Spoken was designed to empower nonspeaking adults to live bigger, more meaningful lives. If you’ve been diagnosed with ALS, apraxia, selective mutism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, or lost your ability to speak due to a stroke, Spoken may be right for you too. Download the app on a phone or tablet to see how it helps you communicate.

Key Features:

• Get Personalized Predictions
Spoken learns from your speech patterns, offering increasingly accurate next-word predictions as you use it to speak. A quick survey helps it tailor suggestions based on the people and places you talk about most.

• Write, Draw, or Type to Talk
Communicate in the way that feels most comfortable. You can type, handwrite, or even draw a picture — like a house or a tree — and Spoken will recognize it, turn it into text, and speak it out loud.

• Choose Your Voice
Pick from Spoken’s wide selection of lifelike, customizable voices covering a variety of accents and identities. No robotic text-to-speech (TTS)! Easily adjust the speed and pitch of your speech.

• Save Phrases
Store important phrases in a dedicated, easy-to-navigate menu so you’re prepared to speak at a moment’s notice.

• Show Large
Display your words at full-screen with large type for easier communication in noisy environments.

• Get Attention
Quickly grab someone’s attention with a single tap — whether in an emergency or just to signal you’re ready to talk. Spoken’s alert feature is customizable and conveniently placed.

• And more!
Spoken’s robust feature set makes it one of the most powerful assistive communication apps available.

Some of Spoken’s features are only available with Spoken Premium. Upon download, you are automatically enrolled in a complimentary trial of Premium. The core function of AAC — the ability to speak — is completely free.
