Fathoms is a strategic word puzzle for people who find other word games too shallow.

Five columns of letter tiles rise from the deep. Spell a word to clear the tiles it touches. But every column your word ignores gains a pressure tile - a ghost of what is coming if you leave it unattended.

The best word is not automatically the best move.

WHERE YOU START MATTERS
In most word games, the longest or highest-scoring word wins. In Fathoms, the column you choose to begin from determines which other columns absorb pressure. A seven-letter word that neglects three columns may cost you the game. A four-letter word played with care can balance the board and keep you alive.

Ghost tiles show you the consequence before you commit. There is no guessing. Only choices.

HOW YOU WIN AND LOSE
Clear every tile from the board and you are Fathomed - the only victory condition. Let any column reach twelve tiles high and you are Crushed. There is no endless mode. There is a goal.

SCORING
Letter values follow Scrabble tradition. Longer words earn a length multiplier. Chain words quickly for a combo bonus. Play deeper into the board for increased depth scores.

CLARITY CASCADE
Clearing an entire column triggers a cascade: one tile is removed from each neighbouring column. Chains are possible. A well-timed cascade can reverse a losing position.

LOW TIDE RESCUE
When no valid word exists, the game enters Low Tide. You choose: add new tiles and fight on, or end the voyage. It is not a failure state - it is a decision.

DAILY PUZZLE
One board per day, date-seeded, shared worldwide. Your result stands alongside everyone else who played the same board. Streaks are tracked.

THEMES
Seven visual themes included without purchase: Wooden, Glass, Cyberpunk, Electric, Steampunk, Stone, Water. Switch freely from the settings.

ACCESSIBILITY
Full colour-blind mode, reduced motion option, and Dynamic Type support. Plays entirely offline. No advertisements. No in-app purchases.

GAME CENTER
Leaderboards for daily puzzle scores. Achievements for clearing boards, maintaining streaks, and other feats best discovered in play.
