Cynapps AudioBook Player
iOS Universel / Livres
Cynapps AudioBook Player is a private, local-first audiobook player for the books you actually own.
Drop in your own m4b, mp3, m4a, aa, or aax files — no accounts, no subscriptions, no library to "log in" to. Everything stays on your device.
GETTING BOOKS IN
• Local web server: turn on a built-in mini-site on your phone, open the URL on any laptop on the same Wi-Fi, and drag files in from a browser. No cables, no cloud round-trip.
• LocalSend: receive audiobooks from another phone, the LocalSend desktop app, or any LocalSend-compatible client. Audio-only files are accepted; everything else is silently dropped.
• Files app: registers as a handler for audio types, so Open In… from Mail, Safari, Files, or AirDrop just works.
PLAYBACK
• Full chapter navigation for m4b files — tap the chapter row for the table of contents and jump anywhere.
• Folder-of-mp3 books group automatically by album metadata. 17 chapter MP3s become one book.
• Speed control 0.5× to 2.5×, preserving voice quality (time-domain audio stretching, not pitch-shifted chipmunk).
• Sleep timer with a smooth 10-second fade-out instead of an abrupt cut. End-of-chapter sleep available too.
• ±30s skip, scrubbable progress bar with chapter-relative or whole-book modes.
• Per-book playback memory — pick up exactly where you left off, even across track boundaries in multi-file books.
• Bookmarks: tag any moment with an optional note, jump back to it later.
• Lock screen and Control Center support — title, cover art, scrub bar, transport buttons.
PODCASTS
• Subscribe to a podcast feed by URL.
• Auto-downloads the most recent 20 episodes for offline listening, up to 4 at a time, with progress per file.
• Continuous play: when one episode finishes, the next starts automatically. ⏮/⏭ jumps between episodes.
PRIVACY
• No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. No ads.
• All audio files and listening progress stay on your device.
• The only network traffic is local Wi-Fi (when you enable the web server or LocalSend) and direct downloads from podcast feeds you explicitly subscribe to.
Built for people who buy their audiobooks, rip their own, or follow podcasts they care about — and want a player that respects that.
