The ClueFinders’ 5th Grade Adventures is an adventure game that builds on fifth graders’ interest in mystery and adventure as well as their abilities in logical thinking, mathematics, science, geography, and language arts. All of the activities in The Clue Finders’ 5th Grade Adventures have been specifically designed to develop this wide range of skills. Each activity also encourages players to use new skills and emerging thinking abilities as they share adventures with characters very much like themselves.
An unexpected tsunami capsizes the ClueFinders’ vessel while they are on an oceanic expedition. Joni and Santiago regain consciousness on an uncharted volcanic island to discover Owen, Leslie, and everyone else aboard missing. Alarmingly, the volcano shows signs of imminent eruption, and strangely, it seems to be thwarting their efforts to escape. The ClueFinders need you! As Joni and Santiago roam the strange island in search of clues, they meet groups of islanders who each offer their own theories about the island’s behavior. Help the ClueFinders as they collect and use information to save the islanders and themselves! Getting to the bottom of the mystery of the volcano will require thoughtful problem solving and courage.
