Trouser Fabric Consumption Calculator

This app is an essential tool for Designers, Merchandisers and Manufacturers who need to frequently calculate the fabric consumption of a trouser or pant.The price of a trouser is mainly based on the fabric consumption.

Using measurements like the Waist, Hip, Thigh, Bottom, Out-seam Length etc. we can calculate the quantity of fabric consumed in a trouser or pant. Additions like belt loops and pockets are accounted for. Fabric consumed by the pockets is calculated separately.

Select the units (cm or inch). Enter the values in each field. Each field has a tooltip that appears when the mouse hovers on the label or the value. The wastage is in percentage. Enter zero where not applicable like the number of belt loops or the number of front and back pockets.

Knowing the width of the body and pocket fabrics we can calculate the respective lengths of the fabric required. Click on the Calculate button to refresh the consumption values.The quantities are shown in metres/pc, metres/doz, yards/pc and yards/doz.

Fabric consumption of the two components namely the Trouser Body and the Pockets are displayed separately at the bottom.

Click on the "Help" at the bottom left of the app window to read the user instructions. The app remembers your last entered values when closing.
