Lockhart Monitor collects as well as processes real-time human locomotion and postural stability information. It can be employed in clinical or laboratory settings in which researchers or health care professionals can assess and monitor the health of patients via gait speed and postural stability measurements. The app serves as a monitoring and diagnostic tool to quantify fall risk as well as balance disorders associated with physiological deterioration.
ABC Scale:
- Interactive Activities-specific Balance Confidence (ABC) scale.
- Measure of confidence in performing various activities without falling or experiencing any form of instability.
Walking:
- Computes gait velocity and time taken to walk a known distance (default is 5 meter walk test).
- Risk level indicator determines health status and risk for pathology.
- Raw data and results are stored and can be exported for further offline analysis.
Postural Stability:
- Calculates sway area, sway velocity, and path length at run-time.
- Stabilogram graph reveals movement of center of mass accelerations throughout measurement period.
- Raw data and results are stored and can be exported for further offline analysis.
Data Storage:
- Walking and postural stability data is saved by date and time as a .csv file.
- Export raw data and results via cloud-based services, email, or directly through iTunes.

- 'Dynamic Stability' module calculates the maximum Lyapunov Exponent for continuous gait.
- Risk scores added to the results of each module along with graphical indicators (these scores will eventually compare with normative values).
- Saving data in 'Postural Stability' module saves all raw signals into one composite .csv file. Previously 'rawAccelerometer', 'rawGyroscope', and 'MotionDevice' saved as separate files.
- Saving data now allows user to input a filename for the dataset.
- Small aesthetic changes to the GUI.
