The National Clefts and Surgery E-registry is a software-based solution which will be an independent central database for all cleft repair and other surgeries done in Nigeria and will pull data from all the six geo-political zones and federal capital territory (FCT) within the country.
The E-Registry will be operated under the stewardship of Smile Train Inc. and the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health.
The National Clefts and Surgery E-Registry will contain family information, demographics, child, maternal and paternal data for each patient, as well as details of completed procedures, follow-up and surveillance activities. The E-Registry will track the continuum of care for each patient.
The National Clefts and Surgery E-Registry will also serve as a hub for clefts and surgery across all tiers (tertiary, secondary and primary) of the Nigerian healthcare system.
