StewardshAPP is an Education Solution. If we can Educate our Medical Staff Providers, Nursing Staff, Patients and their Families then we can change actions and outcomes. Many of the advances in medical treatment are dependent on the ability to fight infections with antibiotics. If that is lost the ability to safely offer people many life-saving and life improving modern medical advantages will be lost with it. The more that antibiotics are used the FASTER resistance develops and the less effective they are. 1 in 3 outpatient antibiotic prescriptions are unnecessary. The solution is Antibiotic Stewardship. Antibiotic Stewardship refers to coordinated efforts designed to measure and improve antibiotic use. In layman’s terms its shepherding antibiotics to ensure they retain their purpose. Antibiotic Stewardship Programs are usually set up and run by ID physician or Pharmacy specialists. Unfortunately there is a dwindling number of these specialists and they face an ever increasing need for their expertise and expansion of their responsibilities. Our solution is Stewardshapp. Stewardshapp is a ready-made, robust tool that can be set up and run without ID training or used to extend existing expertise.
