Oceanlive was developed to predict in real time warnings at our beaches. It uses various environmental factors from numerous weather sites to calculate the most likely outcome for hazards such as strong currents, sand banks, and UV. It also alerts beachgoers of tagged sharks that in the area or sighted by drones and lifeguards. Lifeguards are able to log in and upgrade or downgrade the warnings as well as advise of local warnings such as blue bottles or children that are lost.
You should use this APP together with your own observations of the beach conditions as strong currents and other hazards are often unseen and dangerous and thus understand your ability in the surf.
