Weather Belt: Radar & Alerts
iOS Universel / Météo
Weather Belt is a professional-grade emergency weather intelligence platform built for people who take severe weather seriously. One-time purchase. No subscription. No ads. No accounts. No data collection. Ever.
INTELLIGENT, NOT JUST LOUD
Most weather apps show you every alert within range and let you sort out what matters. Weather Belt doesn't. Every alert is scored by real severity, actual proximity, and your own Risk Profile — so a distant Advisory never buries a Warning bearing down on you. Tap any alert to see exactly why it's showing you what it's showing you. We also take Watch vs. Warning seriously: a Watch means conditions are favorable, a Warning means it's happening. Weather Belt never blurs that line.
REAL-TIME RADAR & ALERTS
Live NEXRAD radar animation shows exactly where storms are moving. NWS alerts surface automatically — tornado warnings, flash flood emergencies, severe thunderstorm watches — with a cycling alert display across all active counties. Critical alerts break through Do Not Disturb.
WORKS WHEN CONNECTIVITY DOESN'T
Download Emergency Region Packs in advance — offline map tiles for your area, so the map keeps working during outages, dead zones, and disasters, not just clear-sky days.
LIVE INTELLIGENCE LAYERS
Ten live data layers on a single map — NEXRAD radar, NWS alert polygons, lightning strikes, wildfires, seismic activity, marine buoys, aviation METARs, river gauges, air quality, and hurricane tracks. Everything updating in real time. No extra apps. No extra cost.
SCANNER AUDIO
Live emergency scanner audio streams from thousands of agencies nationwide. Monitor police, fire, EMS, and emergency operations directly inside the app. Powered by OpenMHz — free, no account required.
LIVING HOME SCREEN
The hero card updates in real time with animated sky backgrounds that reflect actual conditions, heat index warnings, pressure monitoring, and a full 12-hour hourly forecast. Current Conditions pulls up Feels Like, UV Index, Air Quality, Wind, Visibility, Cloud Cover, Dew Point, and celestial data.
PERSONALIZED TO YOU
Tell Weather Belt what matters — storm chasing, elderly dependents, livestock, flood-prone property, and more — and relevant alerts surface more prominently, further out, when they actually apply to your situation.
TOOL BELT — 12 EMERGENCY TOOLS
Conditions Advisor · Lightning Tracker · Shelter in Place · Evacuation Advisor · Go-Bag Checklist · Incident Journal · plus a full Field Tools kit: River Gauges, Compass, Coordinates, Dead Reckoning, Thermal Calculator, and Visibility Danger
OFF-GRID MODE
Satellite readiness tools and emergency templates for when you're beyond cell coverage.
BAROMETRIC PRESSURE MONITORING
Continuous device barometer monitoring with rapid drop detection — often the first indicator of approaching severe weather before NWS issues official alerts.
INTEL DASHBOARD
On-device storm analysis, SPC convective outlook, hazardous weather outlook, and NEXRAD radar timeline in one place. No API key required.
HURRICANE TRACKING
Live National Hurricane Center cone of uncertainty and storm track for all active named storms. Free, official NHC data — no account needed.
PRIVACY FIRST
Weather Belt collects zero personal data. No account required. No telemetry. Everything runs on your device. Optional premium scanner integration available for power users via Broadcastify.

Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
What's New in This Version
Smarter Alerts, Not Just More of Them
Weather Belt now scores every alert by real severity, actual proximity, and your personal Risk Profile — so what matters most rises to the top instead of competing equally with distant advisories. Tap the (i) icon on any Home alert to see exactly why it's showing you what it's showing you.
Honest Watch vs. Warning Language
We reviewed every hazard type in the app — Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm, Flood, Hurricane, Winter Storm, Blizzard, Ice Storm, Tropical Storm, and Wildfire — and fixed cases where Watch-tier alerts were showing Warning-tier urgency (like evacuation language on a Hurricane Watch). Now the words match the actual threat level, every time.
Offline Emergency Region Packs
Download map tiles for your area in advance. When connectivity drops during a real emergency, your map keeps working instead of going blank.
More Accurate Flood Risk Guidance
The Flood Risk banner now distinguishes between a flood warning right next to you and one 40 miles away in a different watershed — no more "move to higher ground" messaging for regional threats that don't apply to your exact location.
Fixed: Severe Weather Hidden Behind Clear Skies
Corrected a rare but important issue where an active Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm Warning could display alongside a "Clear" or "Sunny" condition label. Active warnings now always show clearly, regardless of local sky conditions.
Honest Data Source Labels
Air Quality, UV Index, and Stargazing Score now clearly disclose when a reading is a modeled estimate versus a live ground-station measurement — including a note that Air Quality models can lag behind fast-moving events like wildfire smoke.
Smarter Confidence Display
Replaced a confusing precise-looking confidence percentage on Unified Threat Assessment with clear HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW language, matching the rest of the app.
Visual Fix: Accurate Moon Phase
Corrected the Moon's shading on the Home hero card — crescents and gibbous phases now render with proper astronomical geometry, and waxing/waning correctly shows lit-on-the-right per Northern Hemisphere convention.
Also in This Release
Improved Recommended Action guidance across nine hazard types, with clearer distinctions between prepare-now and act-now situations
Precipitation percentage now shows "0%" instead of a blank space on dry forecast hours
Cleaned up map alert detail text and offline fallback messaging
General accuracy and reliability improvements throughout
As always: no subscriptions, no ads, no telemetry. Just a weather app that takes severe weather — and your trust — seriously.
