Artisans 3D Pedalboard is a professional real-time guitar signal chain platform for iOS. Build a complete amp rig entirely on your device — from input through amp simulation, cabinet loading, and effects, in true stereo. Every parameter is live. Every chain is saveable. Every rig switches instantly.
This is not a single-effect app. The whole signal path is the instrument.
How It Works
Add nodes to your chain, reorder them freely by drag and drop, dial in every control with precision rotary knobs, and save complete setups as named presets. Recall a full rig — amp, cab, all effects, all settings — in one tap. Build as many chains as you need and switch between them without interruption.
Amp Simulation
Four amp models, each voiced for a distinct playing style:
- Clean — warm, high-headroom response with a touch of natural compression
- Crunch — aggressive midrange character with harmonic density that builds with pick attack
- Spring — clean amp with a built-in spring reverb tank; the presence knob controls reverb depth
- Brit — open, bright, no-feedback voicing with a harder, faster clip response
Each amp model has its own Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Gain, and Volume controls.
Cabinet Simulation
Seven cabinet impulse responses, convolution-processed on-device using hardware acceleration. Mix control on each. Swap cabinets in real time while the chain is running:

True Stereo Signal Chain
The entire audio graph runs stereo end to end. Mono inputs — single-channel interfaces, mono audio files — are upmixed cleanly at the input stage. Effects that benefit from stereo run independent per-channel processing, producing real spatial results rather than duplicated mono. Force-mono mode available when needed.
Effects
- Overdrive — analog-style saturation with Drive, Tone, and Level controls. Warm asymmetric breakup that cleans up with your guitar's volume knob.
- Fuzz — high-gain asymmetric distortion with Drive, Tone, and Level. Cuts through and sustains.
- Compressor — envelope-based dynamic control with Sustain, Attack, and output Level. Soft-knee with automatic makeup gain.
- Delay — tempo-synced echo with Time, Feedback, Tone, and Mix.
- Reverb — algorithmic reverb with Size, Damping, Pre-Delay, and Mix. Decorrelated stereo tails create real spatial depth in stereo mode.
- Tremolo — amplitude modulation with Rate and Depth. From gentle pulse to hard chop.
- Chorus — band-split stereo chorus with Rate, Depth, and Mix. In stereo mode the LFO runs at a 90-degree offset between channels for real width. Mono-safe on sum.
- Rotary Speaker — horn and drum band-split modulation with Speed, Depth, and Mix. Strong stereo rotation cues in stereo mode.
- Pitch Shifter — low-latency real-time pitch shifting up to two octaves up or down. Uses the stereo chain directly — no hacks, no buffering overhead.
- 6-Band EQ — parametric tone shaping across the full frequency range.
- Noise Gate — RMS envelope gate with Threshold, Hold, and Release.
- Phaser — classic modulation with sweep, depth and rate.
- Flanger — jet-sweep modulation with Rate, Depth, and Mix.

- Microphone / USB Audio Interface — direct instrument or line-level input
- Wave File Input — load audio files and run them through your chain
- Speaker / Interface Output — routed to device speaker or connected audio interface

Audio Interface
Designed for use with any USB Class 1 compliant audio interface. If your interface is UAC1 compliant, it connects and works automatically — no configuration required.

Two new effects, chain portability, and a redesigned home screen.
- Phaser and Flanger are now available in the effects chain. Both run full stereo processing consistent with the rest of the engine.
- Chains can now be exported and imported as .a3dchain files. Export any chain from the editor, share the file, or load it on another device. Your rigs are no longer locked to one installation.
- The home screen is now organised into three tabs — All, Starred, and Presets. Star your favourite chains to pin them to the top. The Presets tab gives you instant access to all factory chains, ready to clone and edit.
- Noise Gate is now available as an effect. RMS envelope detection with hold and release controls. Put it first in your chain for best results.
- Delay time changes are now smooth. Adjusting the Time knob while playing no longer causes a pop — the delay time transitions with a natural tape-style pitch slide.
