GoodEar Pro
iOS Universel / Musique
Identify intervals, chords, and scales by ear. Play back melodies note by note on a virtual piano. Good Ear is a comprehensive ear training tool for musicians who want structured, focused practice — whether you are preparing for an aural skills exam, building relative pitch, or sharpening your ears alongside your instrument.
FOUR TRAINING MODES
Intervals — 24 intervals from unison to compound 14ths. Practice ascending, descending, simultaneous, or random playback. Add a harmonic backing chord for tonal context. Identify by ear on the piano keyboard or through multiple-choice quiz.
Chords — 39 chord types across triads, seventh chords, extended chords, and altered dominants. Train with root position, first through third inversions, open voicing, and drop 2. Choose block, rolled, or arpeggiated playback. Over 200 unique chord variations when combining types with voicings.
Scales — 35 scales across six families: all seven diatonic modes, harmonic minor modes, melodic minor modes, pentatonic, blues, whole tone, diminished, and bebop scales. Practice in one or two octave ranges with ascending, descending, or random direction.
Melodies — Play back melodies of 3 to 11 notes by ear. Choose diatonic or chromatic intervals with three difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard) and optional chord backing. This is the only mode that requires piano input — exactly like melody dictation in an aural skills class.
TWO PRACTICE METHODS
Play it back on the piano keyboard — scrollable, with an 88-key overview bar, touch highlighting, and multi-touch support. Or name it through multiple-choice buttons for quick recognition training. Switch between both methods at any time.
KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES
Good Ear does not just count your score. It tracks accuracy per element — every interval, every chord type, every scale — and sorts them weakest first. You see exactly where you struggle and what needs focused practice.
- Per-element accuracy bars sorted by weakness
- 52-week practice calendar heatmap
- Session records: best streak, lifetime accuracy, total exercises
- Mastery indicators per element
CONFIGURE EVERY DETAIL
Adjust tempo, playback direction, voicing, inversion, play style, difficulty, melody length, octave range, and harmonic backing. Select exactly which intervals, chords, or scales to include in each session. Good Ear adapts to your level — from your first major scale to your last bebop mode.
