JAX MIDI Control Pad
iOS Universel / Musique
We made this audio unit, because users did ask for a simple clutter-free tool for usage with realtime MIDI performances.
With the JAX MIDI Control Pad you can generate touch based MIDI controller events for transmitting to your favorite synthesizers and audio effects.
Please note, that the AudioUnit (AUv3) requires a supporting host application with extended MIDI connectivity to perform.
The host app is responsible for connecting external devices and other audio units.
The audio unit is created as an instrument (aumu) device for best compatibility and will send MIDI controller events to the connected devices or effects.
The routing capacities usually depend on the support from the host application. One single instance of the JAX MIDI Control Pad can send 2 MIDI controllers at ones, but also can be configured to be merely one, Many instances of the audio unit can be used. The events are filtered to stop useless repeating values, as continuously sending redundant values can affect poerformance drastically and cause negative side effects on the receiver.
Version 2.5 added many new features, for instance support for Channel Aftertouch and Pitch Bend, preset management and user defined colors per audio unit parameters.
This build is truly 'universal', meaning, unit is available for:
- MacOS (Apple Silicon)
- iOS (iPhone)
- iPadOS (iPads)
- visionOS (Apple Vision Pro)
