iOS Universel / Musique
MsyBass is a music instrument app for iOS.
The design of the playing surface is in line with a bass guitar. The tones are arranged according to the strings, but they are laid out as colored playing areas and labeled with their pitch names. This makes it easy to find and play the notes.
Four bass sounds can be selected by tapping the down left button: F for finger bass, N for strings played with nails, P for playing with a pick and H for hammering or more of a pop sound. All sounds were recorded from a standard 5-string precision bass.
Up-left and up-right are two buttons for simulating slapping and two buttons for simulating mute playing. The slap and mute modes can be set on hold by pressing both buttons simultaneously.
The overall volume can be adjusted with a synchronized slider on the left and right side.
The down-right button opens a new page with various settings.
The number of frets, 4-strings or 5-strings and left-hand can be configured. Also the up-down ordering of the tones can be reversed.
The app supports finger vibrato. This can be switched on and off.
The app supports play tones with different loudness depending on the pressure. The range of the loudness level can be adapted to the needs with a maximum and minimum level.
Play level depends on touch pressure. The pressure is estimated with the help of the accelerometer of the device. The level will be accordingly adjusted between the minimum and maximum level. This allows to adjust the range of playing level to your personal needs.
Finally the tuning can be adjusted in the range from 430 to 450 Hz. Also transposing the pitch in semitones is supported.
Selecting the Settings resets the playing mode, which may sometimes be necessary, when a tone hangs on.
