Fault Code Library

Fault Code Library is, quite simply, a library containing nearly every fault code for nearly every BMW made, worldwide, since on board diagnostics were installed.
Most recent BMW vehicles can show you the errors stored in memory without the need for any other equipment. This is usually found through a ‘hidden’ service menu and usually can be accessed using one of the buttons on the dash.
BMW error codes are given in hexadecimal (hex) format (looking like 0x1234ABCD). Because there are so many fault codes from so many different electronic control units (ECUs), many cheap OBD readers cannot give you the whole story. Even professional OBDII readers may not have all the fault codes generated as OBDII does not cover all manufacturer-specific faults.
Fault Code Library has been designed to tell you what a fault code means and which ECU is generating it. It uses the native hexadecimal format so that you get the full fault details. The library contains over 19,000 fault codes and their meanings. It does not use an Internet connection, so it is always with you, wherever you are even when you have no Internet access.
Fault Code Library has been written for BMW enthusiasts worldwide as well as independent garages/specialists. Fault Code Library is also useful for research. The app covers DME/DDE codes for nearly all petrol and diesel BMWs, however, at this time hybrid and pure electric models are not in this release.
Another feature is the ECU location function. Once you have entered a valid hex code into the search bar, the app will tell you which ECU is generating the fault and will show you approximately where the ECU may be located.
This is possibly one of the most comprehensive libraries available, and is continually being updated and improved.
NOTE: This does not connect to the vehicle. This is a full library of codes that interpret On-Board Diagnostics found in the vehicle history.
