Where the grid ends, we begin.

Gridsend is an offline AI assistant built for when the grid goes dark.

Everything runs on your phone after initial setup. No ongoing internet, no cell signal, no servers. The model, the survival library, the speech engine — all of it lives on your device. Once setup finishes, you can put your phone in airplane mode and Gridsend still answers.

Two modes share the same screen.

SURVIVAL DATA is a curated reference library. Twenty‑six preparedness books — water, food, first aid, fire, shelter, defense, navigation, communication — indexed for instant retrieval. Ask any question and Gridsend pulls the relevant passages and writes you a clear, sourced answer. Every answer ends with the books it came from. If the archive doesn't have a confident match, Gridsend tells you that instead of making something up.

OPEN CHAT is the general assistant. Same on‑device model, no retrieval. Bring a photo for it to describe, ask it to think through a scenario, get help planning a route or sorting a gear list. It answers in plain language and stays focused on practical, real‑world help.

What's in the box:

— Fully offline after first setup. The survival library, the embedding model, and the voice engine ship inside the app. The Gemma 4 language model — a few hundred megabytes — downloads once on first run from a public mirror, then lives on your phone for good. From that point on Gridsend works in airplane mode, off‑grid, anywhere. Your questions, chats, photos, audio, and answers never leave your phone.

— Voice. Ask out loud. Whisper transcribes on device. Listen back through the speaker when you'd rather not look at the screen.

— Vision. Attach a photo from your library or take a picture with the camera. Get a thorough description of what you're looking at — useful for gear inventory, terrain readout, plant context, and field notes.

— No accounts. No subscriptions. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no tracking. One purchase, yours forever.

— Citations. Survival Data answers come with the source books listed underneath, so you can verify or dig deeper.

— Built for the worst day. Plain text. High contrast. Big touch targets. Works in low‑power mode.
