The Heidelberg Catechism app provides three tabs to help you memorize all 129 questions and answers of the 2025 RCUS Modern English Edition of the Heidelberg Catechism:
1) Review Tab
Browse the complete catechism sequentially. Each question displays its full answer for reading and initial memorization. Mark questions as mastered to track your progress.
2) Practice Tab
Study questions one at a time with guided assistance. Filter the list by All, Mastered, or Unmastered questions, then tap any question to practice it. Use the Hint or Show Answer buttons to check your recall, and navigate to the previous or next question in your filtered set without returning to the list. Mark questions as mastered as you go.
3) Quiz Tab
Test your knowledge with randomly selected questions. Configure a question range to focus on a specific subset, or enable Only Include Mastered to quiz yourself exclusively on questions you've already marked as mastered. Use the Hint and Show Answer buttons to check your answer, and mark questions as mastered directly from the quiz.

Quiz Tab
- Quiz is now always randomized — sequential mode has been moved out of Quiz and into Practice
- Only Include Mastered option to restrict questions to those already marked as mastered
- Mark questions as mastered directly from the quiz
All Tabs
- Mastery tracking per question — mark any question as mastered and track progress across the app
- Multi-user support — add multiple users, each with their own mastered questions and settings
- Settings sync across devices via iCloud
