Low Voltage Systems Toolkit
iOS Universel / Références
This app is a substantially redesigned visual reference and field-companion for low-voltage systems professionals. Designed for installers, integrators, designers, AHJs, and trade-school students, this app brings together an illustrated drawing library, a curated device catalog with real install data, a private project notebook, and 15 quick field calculators — all working entirely offline on iPhone and iPad.
What's new in this version is the dashboard-style Home screen that opens the moment you launch. It surfaces a recently-viewed carousel of drawings, live stats for everything in this app, a rotating field tip pulled from NFPA, NEC, BICSI and TIA references, and one-tap quick-action tiles for every feature. New users see a What's New screen automatically on first launch.
The Device Library is a new section that lists 36 hand-picked low-voltage devices grouped by trade — fire alarm initiating devices and notification appliances, access-control hardware, IP/PoE video, structured cabling, intercom and paging, and BMS field devices. Each device shows the typical operating voltage and current, mounting height per code, UL listing, the governing standard (NFPA 72, UL 294, TIA-568, etc.), connection type, and install notes for commissioning. Use the search bar or category chips to filter quickly.
Projects is a new private notebook that lives entirely on this device — no account, no cloud, no analytics. Create a project, log address and notes, and tally devices by type with plus and minus buttons for fast estimating, submittal counts, or quick on-site bills of materials.
Beneath the new features, the original illustration browser is still here and is still the heart of this app: 171 professionally drawn low-voltage illustrations across 16 disciplines — System Overviews & Integration, Low-Voltage Plans & Layouts, Riser Diagrams, Fire Alarm (NFPA 72), Access Control, CCTV & Video Surveillance, Intercom Systems, Public Address & Paging, Audio-Visual, Building Management System (BMS), Structured Cabling & Network, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Testing & Symbols, and Field Troubleshooting Diagrams. Pinch to zoom up to 6×, double-tap to snap between 1× and 3×, swipe through any category in full-screen, and tap the star to save any drawing to Favorites.
A 7-chapter low-voltage field guide covers what counts as "low voltage," the eleven core LV subsystems, how to read an LV drawing set, the relevant code stack (NFPA 70 Articles 725/760/770/800, NFPA 72, TIA-568/569/606/607, BICSI TDMM, UL listings), pathways and cabling best practices, installation and commissioning milestones, and a glossary of LV acronyms.
The Calculators tab provides 15 LV-specific field calculations: fire-alarm battery sizing, NAC voltage drop, NFPA 72 strobe spacing, CCTV storage and bandwidth sizing, lens FOV and pixel density, electric-strike and maglock current, REX timing, low-voltage cable voltage drop, conduit fill, PoE switch budget, BACnet point-count estimating, IDF cooling tons, UPS runtime, and power-supply headroom.
Built for the job site: works 100% offline, no ads, no tracking, no account required, universal iPhone and iPad with dark-mode support.
Disclaimer. The drawings, diagrams, schedules, and calculations in this app are for educational and reference use. They are not permit-ready or construction-approved drawings for any specific project, and they do not replace the judgment of a licensed engineer or the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Always follow the current editions of NFPA 70, NFPA 72, applicable TIA and BICSI standards, and all local amendments.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
This update substantially expands this app with three new, immediately-visible features:
Home dashboard (NEW): A redesigned first screen that opens on launch. Surfaces a Recently Viewed carousel of your drawings, a four-tile live stats row, a rotating Field Tip of the Day pulled from NFPA, NEC, BICSI and TIA references, a What's New banner, and one-tap quick-access tiles for every feature.
LV Device Library (NEW): A curated catalog of 36 low-voltage devices grouped by trade — fire alarm, access control, CCTV, cabling and network, intercom and paging, and BMS. Each device lists typical operating voltage, current draw, mounting height per code, UL listing, governing standard (NFPA 72, UL 294, TIA-568 and more), connection type, and a list of install / commissioning notes. Searchable by name, standard, voltage, or connection type.
Project Notes (NEW): A private on-device notebook for tracking LV jobs. Create a project, log address and notes, and tally devices by type using plus/minus buttons for fast estimating and submittal counts. Everything stays on this device — no account, no cloud, no analytics.
Also new in 1.1:
Recently Viewed history — your last 10 opened drawings are one tap away on the Home tab
Auto-presented What's New screen on first launch of this version
Improved keyboard dismissal in calculators (Done button + scroll-to-dismiss)
Long-form Glossary list — each acronym on its own line
The illustration browser, 7-chapter LV Guide, 15 calculators, full-text Search, Favorites, and About sections are all unchanged.
