Download our app and connect with the global Jewish queer community.
JQY is a mental health organization that empowers Jewish queer teens and young adults to live healthy, joyful lives. Our work is grounded in our deep understanding of Jewish tradition and mental health best practices, enabling us to provide critical services and programs for at-risk youth from historically non-accepting communities. We save and improve lives by connecting youth to one another, to providers and relevant resources, and to opportunities to see themselves and their futures.
This app also provides spaces for parents and siblings of JQYers as well as a forum for mental health professionals to connect.
NAVIGATING APP ANONYMITY
**Who can see my profile?**
Once you join the app, your profile will be searchable to all other app users.
“Your Name” (as opposed to “Name for JQY internal use”), your profile picture (should you choose to have one), and your pronouns (should you choose to list them) can be seen by ALL other app users.
If you are concerned about others seeing your real name, please use a different chosen name for your “Your Name.”
If you can, please use your real name under “Name for JQY internal use” as that information will be private and will only be seen by JQY staff.
**Who can see my information? (i.e. name, email, dob, zipcode, etc)**
Only you and JQY staff can see your “Name for JQY internal use,” email, birthday, zipcode, why you are joining the app, and comments for JQY. As this is the case, if you can and are comfortable doing so, please fill out this information with your real email address, dob, etc. so we at JQY can know how to reach you and support you best.
More information on who can see your likes, comments, and posts is within the app or on our social media (Instagram: @jewishqueeryouth, Facebook: @JQYouth).
Want to get in touch with us? Fill out the Join+Contact form on jqy.org and someone from the JQY team will reach out.
