Are you involved in a sport that takes maximum concentration to perform a critical action, followed by an interval of time before you’ve to repeat the action? For example a golf stroke, followed by a walk to where the ball lands or shooting an arrow and walking up to the target. This app is suitable for any sport that requires such momentary concentration such as Golf, Darts, Archery, Chess, Bowling, Pool, Cricket, Curling, Bowls etc. So if you're easily distracted by the slightest noise and want to overcome anxiety during competitions, try “Distraction”.

“Distraction” can prepare you to overcome such irritating moments by playing random noises at random intervals when practising your chosen sport. Practising while hearing short irritating noises at critical moments at random time intervals will help train you for coping with situations that might arise in an actual competition.

The app gives you the ability to set your random time intervals from 1 to 2 minutes up to 1 to 15 and any interval in between, thus giving you a way of tailoring the time intervals to your particular needs. It can be used with your phone in your pocket but we recommend an earbud in case you end up irritating other people.

The app includes 50 sounds, each of approx 10 seconds duration and range from animal sounds, lawn mowers, coughing and other distracting sounds so they aren’t tailored to any particular sport, they're simply annoying when heard at critical moments. However, based on feedback, we may include the ability to record your own random sounds in a future update.

This app will help:

1. Improve Focus Under Distraction: By training in an environment with random auditory distractions, you can learn to maintain focus even when unexpected events occur.

2. Mimic The Competition Environment: In real competitions, athletes often face distractions from crowds, announcements, or other external factors. Training with this app can simulate such conditions.

3. Develop stronger mental resilience, allowing you to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

4. Adapting to quickly changing conditions, a valuable skill in many sports.

5 Coaches: You could use this app to assess and improve an athlete's ability to concentrate in disruptive environments.
