GardenSage AI is a calm, source-traceable AI gardening helper for indoor plant lovers — beginners, growing collections, and silver-aged hobbyists. It identifies species, diagnoses pests and disease, schedules care, and — uniquely — cites every AI care tip back to a public-domain plant pathology source you can audit with a long-press.
Why GardenSage AI
• Plant identification (≤10s): take one photo, get the top 3 candidate species with confidence percentages and Latin + common names. Confidence below 70%? GardenSage asks for a leaf close-up before adding to your garden.
• Pest & disease diagnosis (Source-Trace differentiator): photograph a damaged leaf, get the top 3 likely pests or diseases, with every care tip carrying a citation to UIUC Plant Pathology, RHS, or another public-domain source. Long-press any tip to highlight the source quote and Reject / Edit / Approve. AI never invents.
• Pesticide safety firewall (4 languages): any tip mentioning a chemical product passes both a client-side and server-side 15-word filter, then shows a dosage-aware safety disclaimer in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, or Japanese.
• Smart care calendar: water, fertilize, and repot reminders auto-adjust if you ignore a notification twice in a row (we add +2 days, because real life). Calendar respects Do Not Disturb.
• My Garden + history: long-press any plant for its full care + diagnosis timeline. Free tier supports 5 plants; Pro is unlimited.
• Offline knowledge base: 200 plant species + 30 common pests ship as an on-device SQLite database. The app stays useful when you're in a greenhouse with no signal.
• Silver-friendly by default: 17pt+ body text, ≥54pt tap targets, WCAG AAA palette, VoiceOver-ready. Designed for ages 55–75 from day one.
Privacy
• Plant photos are uploaded only at the moment you press Identify or Diagnose. Request bodies are not retained past a 24-hour debug window and are never used for AI model training.
• AI calls route exclusively through Sanva's self-hosted gateway — no third-party LLM provider holds your data.
• Account deletion is one-tap and cascades within 30 days.

GardenSage AI is a gardening hobby assistant, not a medical or veterinary device. It does not diagnose disease in humans or pets. Pesticide tips are intended as starting points — always cross-check the product label and consult a licensed agronomist for commercial use or persistent damage.
