Once Today
iOS Universel / Style de vie
Once gives you one thing per day.
When you open the app, you receive a single thing. Maybe a thought, a word, a sound, a question, or maybe something harder to define. After that, the app locks until the next calendar day.
There is no scrolling, no feeds, no history, and no retries. What you see is what you get. Once.
Once gives you a moment, then gets out of the way. Sometimes calm, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes thought-provoking. It asks nothing from you except a brief glance.
Open it. Experience it. Come back tomorrow.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
What's New:
* When you share your daily thing, there is now a tiny QR code there. It points to the App Store. We made it nearly invisible. Small. Quiet. You can share what you received without feeling like you are selling something to your friends. You are. But at least it's subtle.
* If you leave and come back, the app notices. It will tell you how many days you were gone. Time passed without you. The streak reset. The world didn't end. Neither did this. It's a statement of fact. Not guilt. Math.
* The notification now says something different every day. We wrote many of them. They range from mildly amusing to vaguely unsettling. The old one was boring. It said the same thing every day for months. So did your inner monologue. Now at least one of those has variety.
* Tap any archived item to see it again. The full thing. Not just the first line. Not just a label that said "Sound" when what you actually heard was a chair creaking back and forth in an empty room. It was a feature not a bug. But now it’s fixed.
* The locked screen no longer collapses into itself when something important is about to happen. Elements were stacking on top of each other like a polite crowd that refused to admit the room was too small. Now they have space. This is the least exciting fix in this update. It is also the one you would have complained about the most if we had not done it.
Bug Fix:
* The Archive used to show a preview of your consumed items that was sometimes wrong and always incomplete. A three-line poem would show its first line. A sentence that built toward a reveal showed only the setup. A vibration pattern showed the word "Vibration pattern." Tap any archived item now. See the full thing, exactly as it appeared that day. The preview still exists. It just no longer lies to you.
* The locked screen used to stack too many things on top of each other when a milestone was approaching. The countdown, the share button, the emoji, the streak, and a line hinting that something was about to change all competed for the same space. Now the hint lives inside the card where it belongs. The crowding is gone. You probably never noticed it. Most people don't notice things that work.
Known Issues:
* You still only get one thing per day. This has not changed. This will not change.
* The QR code cannot be removed from the share card. Consider it permanent. Like a tattoo. A very small, well-designed tattoo.
