Do you love art and wonderful things? Have you ever wondered how an artist or maker does what they do? Each June, artists, makers & galleries open the doors of their spaces to the public as part of the Suffolk Open Studios event - and for the first time this year there will be an additional single Open Studios weekend in November (check website for details).
Since 1991, Suffolk Open Studios has offered visitors this rare opportunity to see behind the scenes at over 130 studio & gallery locations throughout Suffolk, as well as a chance to meet the artists, talk to them about their processes and inspirations, and of course see some fabulous artwork! There is absolutely no obligation to buy, your interest is all we ask for, but of course there's every chance you will find something you love and cannot live without.
Artists and galleries choose which of the four weekends they will be open, with some picking just one weekend and others selecting all four. Visit completely free of charge, between 11am and 5pm on ether the Saturday and Sunday (or both!) on advertised Open weekends. To see which spaces are open for each weekend by click on the date buttons. Many studios may also be open by appointment at other times in the year, offer workshops and classes, or display work on a website - see listings for details.
On this exciting app you can discover artists by medium, by location (including those artists nearest to you) and by opening date as well as finding galleries and exhibitions nearby. Save all the studios/galleries you wish to visit in your favourites!
