World of Treks
iOS Universel / Style de vie
If users just want to find out about treks that people have done, they can do that as well, editing treks is a "optional" extra, obviously one I seek to encourage.
This is an App that allows users to describe their experience in doing treks. They can do so in whatever language they choose, and provide whatever level of detail they wish, they can use text, images, maps, photo albums. When they are done they choose to share their experiences with other App users and can publish their trek description to the Web.
There is not much mandatory information about a treks, it must have a name, it must define the location in the world where it happens, everything else is optional. If you choose to use a language other than English, French or Spanish, I would request that you record the name of the language you have used in the language attribute, so users have filter out treks in languages trey dont understand. You can also filter treks by name, author or purpose so it is a good idea to enter those attributes.
I have structured a Trek arround a trek description, a journal if you like, a collection of Route Points which detail where the trek does, you can add Highlight points for those locations not directed associated with the route, you can create detailed descriptions (journals) about each Route Point and Highlight point, you can also add locations associated with route points to assist with descriptions if required, these extra location basically have a name and a location. You can elect to display a route line to join the route points into a path, when you add a new route point it adds it to the end but you can reorder the route points. You can also show a circle around any location, route point, highlight point, trek to indicate a region of interest.
The app is heavily based on my Simple Journals and Shared Journals apps when it comes to the detailed description , and so comes with a complex set of filters and grouping tools to filter the detailed descriptions.
It is not intended to be purely about treks, in fact any trip could be described, but I would hope only the more physically engaging trips are described. I have described a short walk as a short example of a 'trek', a couple of treks I have done and a boat trip.
