Shellcove turns your iPhone or iPad into a live remote for your Mac — see its screen, move the cursor by touch, dictate by voice, hit keys, and sync the clipboard — all over your local Wi-Fi (or Tailscale / any VPN where both devices can reach each other). No account, no cloud, no analytics.

Built for people who chat with AI agents on the Mac — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, aider, Cursor — and want a calm, one-handed way to watch and drive them from across the room. Also great for long terminal sessions, demos, and couch coding.

How it works
- Open the Shellcove Mac app once. It shows a pairing QR.
- In Shellcove on your iPhone or iPad, tap "Scan QR". The two devices pin a self-signed TLS certificate over your local network — no account, no cloud.
- From then on you get a clean home: connection status, a Live Screen and a Window Text tool, the current Mac window, six one-thumb keys, and a press-and-hold mic.

Key features
- Live screen, by touch: stream the Mac desktop as video and drive it directly — tap or drag to move the cursor, pinch to zoom in for precision, two-finger scroll, long-press to drag (select text, move windows). Choose any display on a multi-monitor Mac. A keyboard button adds mouse clicks and every key. A low-bandwidth mode keeps the picture alive on weak Wi-Fi or cellular.
- Voice (push-to-talk): hold the mic, talk, release to send; slide up past the mic to cancel — same gesture as WeChat voice. Transcribed on-device with Apple Speech and typed into the focused Mac window character by character, so it works in any app including terminals like Ghostty.
- Keys: six always-visible keys (Esc, Tab, Delete, Space, Next tab ⌃Tab, Enter), plus a More Keys panel with 32 combos grouped by Edit (⌘C/V/X/Z/⇧Z/S/A/F), Cursor (arrows + Home/End/PgUp/PgDn), Terminal (⌃C/D/L/R/W/U/A/E), and Function (F1–F12).
- Clipboard sync: the Mac's clipboard mirrors to your paired devices automatically; send your device's clipboard back to the Mac with one tap.
- Window text: open a live, monospaced view of the focused Mac window's text (e.g. a terminal buffer) that refreshes as it changes — wide lines scroll, no video needed.
- iPhone + iPad, any orientation: the layout adapts to every screen — a single column on phones, a two-column "big screen + controls" layout on iPad, and a landscape mode that rearranges to fit.
- LAN + Tailscale + VPN: the Mac advertises every reachable IPv4 in the pairing QR. iOS auto-picks the fastest each time and lets you manually force any address (with live latency next to each entry) when you're off the LAN.

Privacy & networking
- 100% local. Shellcove communicates only between your iPhone/iPad and Mac, over your network. Nothing leaves your devices.
- TLS with certificate pinning. The Mac generates a self-signed certificate at first launch; your device pins its fingerprint at pairing. Every later session uses real TLS that only your paired Mac can complete.
- No accounts, no servers, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs.
- Speech is transcribed on-device via Apple's Speech framework — audio is never uploaded.

Requirements
- A Mac running macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer with the free companion Shellcove Mac app installed (apps.zhizuzhefu.com/shellcove).
- Both devices on the same Wi-Fi network, or on any VPN where they can reach each other (Tailscale tested).
- One-time Accessibility and Screen Recording permission on the Mac so it can synthesize input and mirror the screen.
