BEdecimal
iOS Universel / Utilitaires
A decimal clock for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
BeDecimal shows you the time of day in base ten: ten hours, one hundred minutes to an hour, one hundred seconds to a minute. Midnight is 0.00. Noon is 5.00. The day, divided cleanly into ten — the way you already measure distance, weight, and volume.
The idea is older than it sounds. In 1793, in the same wave of reform that gave the world the metre and the kilogram, the French Republic decreed decimal time. The clocks were beautiful. The system was abandoned within two years. The metric system survived everywhere else. Time was the one unit left behind.
BeDecimal is a small attempt to put that unit back on your wrist and your Lock Screen.
WHY DECIMAL TIME, NOW?
For most of the day, you read a clock without really seeing it. The numerals are familiar; the meaning is automatic. A decimal clock is unfamiliar enough that, for a while, you have to look. You have to translate. You have to think about what time it is — not where you should be next.
That friction is the point. It does not last forever. The novelty fades. But while it is there, the clock becomes visible again — an instrument, not a deadline.
This is not a productivity app. There are no streaks, no goals, no notifications nudging you to do more. There is a clock. It is slower to read, on purpose.
