FlickerSpec: LED Light Auditor
iPhone / Utilitaires
FlickerSpec is the professional flicker measurement tool built for clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lighting designers, and facility managers who need documented, standards-compliant results — not just a number on a screen.
WHAT IT MEASURES
FlickerSpec measures Percent Flicker and Flicker Index per IEEE 1789-2015 using your iPhone camera at 240fps — identifying the dominant flicker frequency, computing signal-to-noise ratio, and delivering a confidence rating so you know when a measurement is reliable.
For regulatory work, FlickerSpec v1.2 adds IEC Certified Measurement: a 3-minute tripod-based capture that produces a Short-Term Flicker Severity (PstLM) value per IEC TR 61547-1:2015 — the metric cited by EU Ecodesign 2019/2020, ANSI C82.77-6-2023, and WELL Building Standard V2.
BUILT FOR COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION
Every measurement can be saved to a session with a location label, fixture photo, GPS coordinates, and notes. When your audit is complete, FlickerSpec generates a professional PDF report with the measurement results, IEEE 1789-2015 Pass/Fail, PstLM + EU Ecodesign verdict where applicable, the FFT spectrum, the fixture photo, and your calibration certificate reference — the documentation standard expected by clinical engineering departments and accreditation surveyors.
CALIBRATION SYSTEM
FlickerSpec includes a free companion calibration web app. Before your audit, point your iPhone at the companion app running on any monitor or laptop. FlickerSpec captures the known-frequency signal, verifies accuracy, and generates a timestamped calibration certificate that attaches to all subsequent reports.
LIVE MEASUREMENT DISPLAY (FREE)
The free tier includes the full live measurement display — real-time luminance waveform, FFT spectrum, dominant frequency readout, confidence indicator, achieved frame rate — plus up to 5 measurements per day. All raw metrics (Percent Flicker, Flicker Index, frequency, SNR, confidence) are visible on every measurement. IEEE 1789-2015 Pass/Fail verdict, IEC Certified Measurement, measurement logging, reporting, and calibration require Pro.

Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
IEC Certified Measurement (Pro):
FlickerSpec now produces a Short-Term Flicker Severity (PstLM) value per IEC TR 61547-1:2015 — the metric cited by EU Ecodesign 2019/2020, ANSI C82.77-6-2023, and WELL Building Standard V2. Mount your iPhone on a tripod, aim at the fixture, run a 3-minute capture, and FlickerSpec returns a PstLM value with a clear PASS/FAIL against the PstLM ≤ 1.0 threshold.
The PstLM result appears on the Log Measurement screen and in the single-measurement PDF report, alongside the existing IEEE 1789-2015 verdict. Quick Measurement (the live handheld IEEE 1789 flow) continues unchanged.
Under the hood: 8× oversampled flickermeter at 1920 Hz, full 6-biquad LM weighting filter cascade, 60-second settling discard, IEC-smoothed percentile bank, validated against all 5 IEC TR 61547-1 Annex A Table A.1 test vectors within ±5%.
