I Need Aid

If you need help while abroad, you may not know the numbers for the emergency services. This application determines the country you are in and displays the emergency numbers (police, ambulance and fire brigade, plus your location - address, latitude and longitude).
If for some reason your location cannot be determined (perhaps you have disabled the location services, or the GPS reception is poor), then you can select the country from a list, and access the numbers that way.
In both cases, calling the emergency number is easy - just click the button!
The application also includes an SOS beacon, utilising your camera flash. If your device does not have a flash, the screen will still become a beacon, turning bright white, and then dark.
You can share your location with the emergency services, or friends, from within the application.
A very useful application when travelling abroad!
Note: while best efforts have been made to verify all the emergency numbers, local authorities can change them at anytime. The application developer holds no responsibility if the numbers are no longer correct; you use this app at your own risk.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
- dropped the 'what3words' location string (what3words have started charging - a lot - to use their api)
- use OpenStreetMap for mapping (which is available on MacOS too)
