Manual Lift Calculations made easy!

As with all our Apps this App provides the underlying maths and theory behind the calculations together with worked examples. This will allow you to not just get an answer, but more more importantly, to understand how the answer was derived.

This App has been designed to assist in undertaking and understanding lift and Elevator Round Trip Time, Interval and Handling Capacity calculations. It also provides the opportunity to understand the components that make up the classical Round Trip Time formula together with the opportunity to interrogate the individual terms within it.

The following three analysis options are available within the App:

Up-Peak Calculation:

Upon providing the details of the building, its population and the proposed lift system, this feature calculates the performance of the lift system and provides the Round Trip Time, Interval and Handling Capacity of the proposed lift system. In addition the calculated elements of the Round Trip Time, Interval and Handling Capacity calculations are presented as outputs.

Lift Kinematics:

Kinematics - The motion of objects without reference to the forces which cause the motion. This feature allows the user to enter the lift car’s ‘rated speed’, ‘acceleration’, ‘jerk’ and ‘trip distance’. The Application then calculates the ‘flight time for trip distance’, ‘maximum speed reached during the trip’, ‘distance to reach rated acceleration’, ‘time to reach rated acceleration’, ‘speed at rated acceleration’ distance to reach rated speed, and time to reach rated speed.

Lift Equations:

The Lift Equations Feature allows the user to enter values into the classical Round Trip Time (RTT) calculation. In addition each element of the RTT calculation can be individually calculated in isolation and if desired inserted into the overall RTT calculation.
