SolarWiringSimLab is a visual solar wiring planning app for RVs, camper vans, tiny houses, boats, cabins, and small off-grid power systems.
The app helps you design and understand a simplified solar electrical system before building it in the real world. Instead of using separate calculators only, you can build a visual 2D wiring diagram and see how the main parts of your system connect together.
Add solar panels, MPPT charge controllers, batteries, DC busbars, fuses, breakers, inverters, DC loads, AC loads, and wires. The Visual Wiring Canvas shows the main charging path and protected load branches, including solar panel to MPPT controller, MPPT to battery, battery to DC busbar, DC busbar to fuse or breaker, protected DC load branch, main inverter protection, inverter, and AC load.
SolarWiringSimLab includes ready-made templates for common projects such as Basic RV Solar, Camper Van Power, Tiny House Starter, Boat DC System, and Off-Grid Cabin. Each template opens directly in the builder with a prepared system that can be reviewed, edited, analyzed, and saved.
Built-in calculators help with important off-grid planning tasks:
• Battery Runtime
Estimate usable watt-hours, runtime hours, and runtime days.
• Solar Size
Estimate recommended solar wattage from daily energy use, peak sun hours, and system loss.
• Wire Size
Find a recommended wire size using voltage, current, cable length, and allowed voltage drop.
• Fuse Size
Estimate a recommended fuse rating.
• Inverter Size
Estimate inverter wattage, surge needs, and battery current draw.
• Voltage Drop
Check estimated voltage loss through a cable run.
The system analyzer helps identify common planning issues, including missing battery protection, missing DC busbar, missing DC branch fuse or breaker, missing inverter protection, missing MPPT controller, low solar production, insufficient battery capacity, inverter overload, surge power risk, MPPT input voltage problems, and excessive voltage drop.
The Project Summary screen organizes key results in one place: system voltage, total solar power, battery capacity, usable battery energy, daily load, estimated runtime, daily solar production, warnings, wiring preview, wires, fuses, and breakers.
The Learn section explains solar basics, battery capacity, inverter sizing, wire sizing, fuse protection, and common wiring mistakes in simple language. It is useful for beginners who want to understand why low-voltage systems require careful wire sizing, why fuses protect wires, and why daily energy use must be compared with solar production and battery capacity.
Settings let you customize default system voltage, wire unit, AC voltage standard, temperature unit, theme mode, and language. The app supports 12V, 24V, and 48V planning, mm² or AWG wire units, 120V AC or 230V AC standards, Celsius or Fahrenheit, and light, dark, or system theme mode.
Saved projects are stored only on your device. No cloud account is required. Project data is not stored on an external server. If you delete the app, saved project data will also be deleted.
SolarWiringSimLab is designed for planning, learning, comparison, and early design exploration. It helps you organize components, estimate performance, understand energy flow, and spot common wiring risks before purchasing parts or building a system.
SolarWiringSimLab is an educational planning tool. It does not replace certified electrical design, professional installation, code compliance review, or inspection. Always verify real-world wiring, fuse sizing, breaker sizing, cable ratings, battery installation, inverter installation, and electrical safety with a qualified professional before building or modifying an actual electrical system.
