Geraldine’s Phonics Land is the first in a new series of apps designed by Mr Thorne Productions and developed by Angel Applications.

Mr Thorne’s 22nd app and the second app to feature the Youtube legend and global icon Geraldine the Giraffe, this game is a small spelling game aimed at young readers practising their blending of sounds to spell words. 90% of the words are CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words with a mixture of CVCC, CCVC and CCVCC also. ALL of the words are phonetically decodable and if your child knows the letters and sounds of the alphabet, then they should be able to use their phonic knowledge to spell these words accurately. Each time they spell 5 words correct, they win an object for Geraldine’s cupboard - and we all know how much Geraldine likes to search around the house for things.

The mini spelling quizzes focus on:

a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, ck, k, l, m, n, o, p, qu, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z.

With this app, your youngster will become a spelling legend, just like Geraldine the Giraffe!

Geraldine the Giraffe is recognised around the world as the naughtiest giraffe to ever learn to read. She is cheeky, but loveable. You can watch her on Youtube too!
