PrepPositions
iPad / Education
Prep Positions is a multi-purpose app designed to help students understand and use prepositions while building stronger sentence formulation skills. With 15 levels, multiple sentences at each level, and customizable options, this app is perfect for students who struggle with prepositions. Built-in data collection makes it ideal for monitoring progress in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Teachers, Language Arts Specialists, and Speech-Language Pathologists will appreciate the detailed customization and comprehensive reporting, while students stay motivated by earning balls for an engaging in-app game.
How to Play
Start by importing players from the Therapy Report Center or entering them manually. Up to five players can participate in a session. Each level focuses on prepositions—from early-level words such as at, up, down, on, and by (Level 1) to more advanced phrases like because of, close to, depending on, and up to (Level 15).
During play, students see a sentence with a blank space and choose the correct preposition from three options by dragging it into place. An optional setting allows players to record the sentence for added practice.
Customization
Prep Positions is highly flexible, allowing settings for the whole app or for individual players.
•App-wide settings: adjust audio, set game play timing, choose backgrounds, decide when to record, or modify sentences.
•Individual settings: select specific levels or modify targeted prepositions per player.
Data Collection
Compatible with the Therapy Report Center, Prep Positions automatically generates report cards after each session. Reports track progress by session, level, and individual preposition. Data can be printed, emailed, or exported, and is stored chronologically to simplify long-term progress reporting.
Purpose
Prepositions make up nearly 30% of all writing, making mastery critical for academic success. Prep Positions encourages practice and carryover of these skills in fun, interactive ways while reinforcing Common Core Language Standards. Students learn to self-advocate, ask for clarification, and apply strategies to improve their communication.
