Fractions Decimals Percentages helps students visually explore the relationship between fractions, decimals, and percentages.
This app is not a quiz and does not ask students to complete problems. Instead, it is designed to build conceptual understanding. By painting grids and circles with one or more colors, students can see how the colored parts are represented as fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Students can use a single representation, such as fractions only, or compare multiple forms at the same time. This makes the app useful for introducing the concepts as well as exploring the connections between them.
Visual Exploration:
Students can paint grids and circles using different colors. As they color the model, the app shows the matching fraction, decimal, and percentage amounts. Models can be very simple, with only one square or sector, or much larger, with up to 10,000 grid squares or 360 circle sectors.
