Santa Monica Pier’s Secret Story Tour App takes visitors on a location-based digital tour to discover the history of the famed destination.

Solve puzzles, learn fascinating history, and take fun photos!

Guests will explore multiple points along the Pier to solve a total of 12 puzzles on the app, each revealing a fun fact or untold story from the Pier’s rich history.

For added fun, solving each puzzle rewards guests with an exclusive photo filter so that they can step into history and capture fun memories along the way.



This digital tour takes approximately one hour and is an adventure suitable for all types of people, from tourists to locals, families to escape room enthusiasts. A tiered hint system means that players of all skill levels will be able to complete the quest. There’s no time limit, so guests can play at their leisure, stopping and picking back up whenever they choose. Once downloaded to a single device, groups and families can all work together to solve the puzzles and take their prize photos. We recommend that children under the age of 10 play the game with an adult. The location-based tour is a downloadable app and can only be experienced while visiting the Pier, allowing guests to explore the Pier and solve the quest at their leisure.
