CalmusComposer composes original music in a new way with musical input from the user - using Artificial Intelligence based on traditional composing methods.
The core is the CalmusAI brain - where modern composing methods are programmed into the CalmusAI brain using Lisp programming language.
This is similar approach to what NASA have done - NASA has historically used Lisp for artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, most notably in the 1990s Remote Agent project, the first AI system to control a spacecraft.
CalmusComposer does not collect or use any musical material from the internet but creates new music based on the input from the user.
CalmusComposer has been used to compose award-winning music for symphony- and chamber orchestras, solo instruments, electronic media, films, stage productions, games and various other entertainment projects.
The program is an innovative tool for musical composition. It composes music based on inputs created by the user but can also generate music on its own through the AI JukeBox library.
CALMUS is based on a wide range of compositional methods. The music can be exported as traditional notation (MidiFile) or connected to external MIDI devices. The program provides functions and options for composing diverse music using Artificial Intelligence.
Composers can either import their musical ideas into the system via MIDI files or enter their material directly into the program through MIDI and MIDI files. The program analyses the input and adjusts parameters and functions inside the core system, all according to the input material from the user.
The CalmusComposer royalty-free library contains various types of musical ideas that can be used to create new works. Composers can also create their personal library or modify the internal library according to their own musical ideas.
The CalmusAi brain is a part of a doctoral degree from Sibelius Academy in Finland 1995.
