Pro Audio Converter is a fast, batch audio converter for macOS. Drop in dozens of files, pick one or more output formats, and let it run multi-threaded across every CPU core.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Multi-threaded batch conversion to several output formats in a single pass.
• Full metadata read and write, including multi-value fields and tags outside the standard set (MusicBrainz IDs, ReplayGain values, sort orders, and more). Cross-format equivalents are mapped automatically so tags survive the conversion.
• Tag editor mode. Update metadata on existing files without re-encoding.
• Custom output naming. Build output paths and file names from metadata fields like artist, album, and track number.
• Configurable sample-rate conversion (Mastering, Normal, Fast) and bit-depth dithering (TPDF, Noise Shaping).
• Smart content-based file detection. Audio files with the wrong extension, or no extension at all, import correctly.
• Raw and headerless audio support. Drop a .raw or .pcm file, or a Sound Designer II file whose resource fork has been stripped, and supply sample rate, bit depth, and channel count in a single sheet.
• Optional automatic add of converted files to the Music app.

- Now recognizes recovered Sound Designer II files that arrive with a ".sd2f" extension.
- WAV files now use a standard header that older hardware samplers can read.
- Damaged or partially downloaded files now stop with a clear error instead of quietly producing a near-empty file.
- A failed save no longer deletes the existing file at the destination without putting a new one in its place.
- When a save replaces an existing file, the old version now reliably goes to the Trash, even when its name contains spaces.
- Interrupted conversions no longer leave large temporary files behind, and any leftovers from an earlier crash are cleared at the next launch.
- Fix an issue where certain files could fail to encode to MP3 on older versions of macOS.
