Apple is retiring Rosetta. Starting with macOS 28, Rosetta will run for only a small set of older games. Every other Intel app, and every Intel plugin hidden inside an otherwise native app, will simply stop working.

Rosetta Check tells you exactly what that means for your Mac today, while you still have time to act.

It is backed by the largest community database of Intel Mac software anywhere: over 23,500 Intel-only apps tracked across more than 5,700 Macs, with 5,000+ already confirmed to have a native Apple Silicon version. When the community finds a native replacement, you see it.

ONE SCORE FOR YOUR WHOLE MAC Most tools only look at your apps. Rosetta Check scores everything that actually runs on your Mac: your applications plus every audio plugin (AU, VST3, AAX, CLAP), Final Cut, Motion and Premiere effects, Photoshop and Lightroom extensions, 3D plugins for Blender, Cinema 4D and Maya, system extensions, virtual cameras, login items, and the helper tools hidden inside Universal apps. Replace one Intel plugin and your score moves. Reach 100 percent and your Mac is truly ready.

ALWAYS WATCHING, NEVER DRAINING Two live monitors sit quietly in your menu bar. Drop a new plugin into a folder, install a camera extension, or add a video effect, and you get a notification within seconds with the architecture badge. No scheduled rescans. No background daemons. No battery cost.

FINDS THE INTEL CODE HIDING INSIDE NATIVE APPS A Universal app can still carry Intel-only pieces inside it: an Adobe service that is still x86_64, an Intel-only audio plugin, a helper tool buried in an installer. These hidden parts are exactly what break after Rosetta is gone. Rosetta Check walks every Universal bundle and surfaces them before they bite.

A CLEAR REPLACEMENT LIST The Components tab groups everything by the app that hosts it: plugins under Logic, instruments under Ableton, effects under Final Cut. Filter to Only Intel for a focused to-do list. Tap any item for its architecture, vendor, version and install path, plus a one tap link to search for a native update.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Rosetta Check runs locally and is fully sandboxed. Some plugin folders need your permission before it can read vendor and version details. It asks only when needed, explains which folder and why, and you can revoke any permission from Settings at any time.

EXPORT AND AUDIT Export your apps and components to CSV or JSON, complete with category, host, vendor, architecture and detection depth. Automatic export writes predictable filenames so MDM collection scripts pick them up without extra work.

BUILT FOR IT TEAMS Rosetta Check ships with managed configuration for fleet deployment. Turn component scanning on or off, restrict it to the categories you care about, tune the readiness model to your risk profile, and control launch at login, automatic export and community sharing. See the MDM guide for the full key list.

ALSO INCLUDED Live Spotlight monitoring of your Applications folder. Apple Silicon readiness for the apps you already own. Community sourced replacement suggestions. Scan history with trend charts up to 365 scans deep. Menu bar mode. Notifications. Available in English, French, German and Japanese. Built entirely with SwiftUI and Apple’s native APIs.

Requires macOS 13 Ventura or later on an Apple Silicon Mac.

Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?

Fixed a false “Spotlight isn’t working” warning that could appear after your Mac woke from a long sleep, such as closing the lid overnight or for a few days. Spotlight was never broken, it just needed a moment to catch up. Rosetta Check now recognises when your Mac has just woken and gives Spotlight a short grace period before showing any warning. You will still be alerted promptly if something is genuinely wrong.

Plus general stability and housekeeping improvements under the hood.
