Starting with macOS 28, Rosetta will only run for a small set of older games. Every other Intel app, and every Intel plugin living inside an otherwise native app, will simply stop working. Rosetta Check 2.0 is the only tool that scores your whole Mac, not just the .app bundles.

THE TOTAL MAC READINESS SCORE
A single percentage on your Overview tab now reflects everything that runs on your Mac: applications plus every audio plugin (AU, VST3, AAX, CLAP), Final Cut, Motion, and Premiere FxPlug effects, Photoshop and Lightroom extensions, 3D plugins for Blender, Cinema 4D, and Maya, system extensions, virtual cameras, login items, and the embedded helpers and XPC services discovered inside Universal app bundles. Replace one Intel plugin and your score moves. Reach 100% and your Mac is truly ready for Rosetta's removal.

ALWAYS WATCHING APPS AND PLUGINS
Two live Spotlight monitors run alongside each other in your menu bar. Drop a new VST3 into your audio plugins folder, install a Camera Extension, or add a Final Cut effect, and you'll get a notification within seconds, complete with the architecture badge. No periodic rescans, no battery cost, no daemons.

DEEP BUNDLE INSPECTION
Every Universal app on your Mac is walked for embedded Intel binaries: the Adobe XPC service that is still x86_64, the Logic Pro AU shipped Intel only, the helper tool inside an otherwise native installer. These hidden pieces are exactly what trips users up after Rosetta is removed. Rosetta Check 2.0 surfaces them before they bite.

APP AND COMPONENT INTELLIGENCE
The new Components tab groups everything by host app: AU plugins under Logic, VST3s under Ableton, FxPlug effects under Final Cut, Photoshop extensions under Photoshop. Filter to "Only Intel" to get a focused replacement list. Click any component for full architecture, vendor, version, install path, and a one tap "Search Vendor" link to find a native update.

PRIVACY FIRST GRANT MODEL
Per user plugin folders need a sandbox grant for vendor and version enrichment. Rosetta Check asks only when it needs to, with a clear explanation of which folder and why. You can revoke any grant from Settings at any time.

EXPORT, SHARE, AUDIT
CSV and JSON exports now ship in two halves: the apps you already had, and a brand new components export with category, host, vendor, architecture, and detection depth. Auto export still writes a single, predictable filename so MDM collection scripts pick up both files automatically.

MDM AND ENTERPRISE
Five new managed keys arrive in 2.0: componentMonitoringEnabled, componentDeepInspectEnabled, componentCategoriesEnabled, promptForComponentUserScopeAccess, and totalReadinessWeights. Pin the readiness model to your fleet's risk profile, restrict to just the categories you care about, or roll out plugin detection in stages. Every existing v1 key (auto export, launch at login, community sharing, enterprise GUID, App Store review prompts) still works exactly as before.

EVERYTHING FROM V1, STILL HERE
Spotlight live monitoring of your Applications folder. Apple Silicon readiness for the apps you already have. AI curated replacement suggestions from the RosettaCheck community. Scan history with stacked bar trend charts up to 365 scans deep. macOS 26.4 Rosetta usage awareness popup suppression. Menu bar mode. Notifications. Local only by default. Fully sandboxed. Built with SwiftUI and Apple's native APIs.

Requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later on an Apple Silicon Mac.
