The iLungScan ™ App provides a rapid and convenient way of recording along ultrasound examination.

Each examination commences with patient demographic information, and then each side of the chest is displayed on separate screens, allowing tick box entry of findings as well as the measurement dimension for a pleural effusion with calculation of volume, and diaphragmatic excursion.

Five pictures or videos of each side are able to be entered by using the camera on the device to take photographs in real time of the ultrasound machine screen, or alternatively access images from the camera library.

Some additional background information can be entered including the date of the procedure, the indication for the procedure and various other data.

Space is also allowed for a free text description, which can be facilitated using the Siri voice recognition capability of the device.

The study may be saved in progress which can be completed later, or may be processed which delivers it to the cloud. An option allows for emailing a PDF report to yourself. This PDF report has embedded image thumbnails which have hyperlinks to the images or videos stored on the cloud and can be viewed dynamically.
