What BP Companion does
BP Companion records your blood pressure readings over time and automatically calculates four additional values that give you a deeper understanding of your cardiovascular health.
What is recorded each entry
- Systolic and diastolic blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Time and date
- Any medications you have logged
The four derived measurements
Fractional Pulse Pressure (PSR) — reflects arterial stiffness relative to your average pressure.
Pulse Pressure — the difference between your top and bottom numbers.
Rate Pressure Product — an estimate of cardiac workload.
Average Real Variability (ARV) — how much your blood pressure fluctuates between readings. At least 8 readings are needed for this to be meaningful.
A plain-language explanation of each measurement, including normal ranges by age is available
Sharing your data
Your readings can be exported as a PDF report or CSV file and sent directly from your iPhone or iPad. It ca also be exported to the Apple Health App.
